Fostering Digital Transformation: Understanding Enabling Factors and Overcoming Barriers

The research aims to identify the barriers and enablers to the adoption of digital transformation for Aljabr Holdings in Saudi Arabia. The research provides recommendations for the organization to efficiently transition its organizational structure to digital transformation. Digital transformation has created a revolution in the modern business environment. This research is based on Aljabr Holdings, which is a conglomerate engaged in investing in numerous sectors like Banking, Finance, Automobiles, etc. The research used qualitative semi-structured interviews for the analysis. The findings of this study indicated that the efficiency of the company lies in aligning its targets with the Saudi Vision 2030. The decision of the organization to integrate agile approaches, promote the significance of data analytics, and support the heads of the organization are the crucial findings of the study. These are the main benefits attained from the findings. On the other hand, resistance from the employees and other internal challenges are found as critical barriers and these represent challenges derived from the findings. The research indicates that digital transformation is driven by several factors such as leadership, culture, and digital infrastructure of the organizations. The findings further indicated how collaboration increases the quality of people and promotes digital transformation in organizations. As per the research, the company is recommended to utilize a change management strategy, implement training programs, and communicate its target of digital transformation among the team members.
