One of the earliest human inventions is pottery, which dates to before the Neolithic era and includes ceramic items from different cultures like the Gravettian culture. The first fire ceramic vessels come from China around 20,000 years ago. By looking at the burn marks on its surface scientist’s figures that it was used for boiling, baking and steaming food. It was also found that it contained a large quantity of clam and snail shells which reflects the food in the Chinese culture back then. With roots dating back more than 3000 years BC, pottery is the oldest craft industry in Bahrain that is still practiced today.
